Our Mission
Data for Progress Education Fund (DFP Ed) is a research organization that works to improve how policymakers, the media, and the public understand public opinion and key policy issues.
Led by a team of experts, DFP Ed conducts rapid and methodologically innovative polling, data analysis, and focus groups to deepen the public’s understanding of voter attitudes, especially on underexplored social and economic issues.
By democratizing access to quality public opinion research, we can inform decision-making and advance policy solutions to improve the quality of life for all Americans.
Our work is supported by two organizations: Data for Progress Education Fund, a 501(c)(3), and Data for Progress, Inc., a 501(c)(4).
Why You Should Work With DFP Ed
We’re innovative. Through our team of data scientists and software engineers, we are a leader in methodological rigor and technological innovation. We can field high-quality polls on rapid response timelines, and our proprietary software allows us to quickly analyze data with dozens of crosstabs and produce customizable charts.
We’re good partners. We strongly value our partnerships and go beyond what traditional polling firms offer. We don't just send you the poll results and say “good luck” — we're in the trenches fighting alongside you. We’ll be your thought partner and co-strategist on everything from campaign strategy and press relations to data visualization. We will take a 360° approach to ensure your goals are met.
We’re accurate. We’re proud to consistently rank among the leading U.S. pollsters for low statistical bias. This is a testament to our team’s deep knowledge and experience.
We’re respected. We uniquely bridge the gap between grassroots organizations and policymakers across the progressive ecosystem and leverage our relationships to make an unparalleled impact for a polling firm of our size.
We’re nimble. Most weeks, we can turn around bespoke national surveys within two days. Our timeline for conducting surveys and publishing results is much quicker than that of your average polling firm or academic institution.
